To manually add a text, just open menu item "Edit: Add new text", enter a meaningful Title and the Text and save it with button [Save].
This method can especially be used to add texts from sources or file formats, that FtFind cannot import directly.
To import text files, open menu item "Edit: Add from text files", select the files to be imported and add them to the database with button [Add...].
Currently supported are the following file formats:
Plain text (*.txt)
Such files will be imported "as is".
HTML files (*.htm, *.html)
Such files will be converted to text by removing all HTML tags. FtFind tries
to keep basic formatting info (line breaks, paragraphs), so the resulting
text is hopefully near to "human readable".
Other files (*.*)
All other files will be treated as plain text files, i. e. they will be
imported "as is".
Note: Imported files are just read once and will not be chanegd by FtFind. All converting issues mentioned just happen inside of FtFind and its database.
FtFind has a built-in newsreader, that can load messages directly from newsservers, convert them to a text and store them in the database.
To use this function, setup the newsservers to use with menu item "File: Newsservers" and then add the wanted newsgroups with menu item "File: Newsgroups".
From now on, you can import newsgroup messages with menu item "Edit: Add from newsgroups"
