Menu item "File: Open" is used to open one of the FtFind databases. You can also create new databases or delete old ones on this window.

Host name (or IP) and port number of MySQL server.
No need to change except connected over a slow connection.
Username and password for MySQL server.
Name of the FtFind database to use (default database is
"ftf_default")..
Lists all databases available on MySQL server.
Create a new FtFind database with the given name. This function can be used to create additional databases, e. g. for different categories of information.
Note:
It is strongly suggested to follow the naming scheme "ftf_<category>"
(i. e. names like "ftf_windows", "ftf_hamster"
or "ftf_games"), as future versions of FtFind may make
use of such names (e. g. by presenting categories of all available database
names starting with "ftf_").
Drop (i. e. delete) the database with the given name.
All settings except passwort are stored in the registry.
